Dragon Studies

Course Description:

• Dragon Studies is an Extra-Curricular Subject at Hogwarts. This subject focuses on Dragons which the Ministry of Magic classified as XXXXX Creatures and are regarded to as dangerous and known wizard killers.

Course Objective:

• Dragon Studies aims to give its students the proper knowledge about dragons so that in the event that they would encounter one, they would know what to do and what not to do.
• Dragon Studies also aims to be an introduction to Dragonology for students who wish to choose that path in their future.

Required Supplies:

• Dragon Species of Great Britain and Ireland
• From Egg to Inferno: A Dragon-Keeper’s Guide
• Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Grading:

• Students would be graded based on attendance, assignments, class participation and final examination.
• Final Examination is worth 50%.
• Assignments are worth 30%.
• Class Participation is worth 10%.
• Attendance is worth 10%.

Assignments:

• Every student is given one week to submit their assignments.
• No assignment will be accepted after the due date.
• House points will be awarded accordingly.

Final Exam:

• The final examination is worth 50% of a student’s total grade.
• There is no schedule for the final exams yet.

Attendance:

• Students are required to attend each and every class session.
• Only 3 excused absences are allowed. 
• For an absence to be considered excused, the student must write an excuse letter in a parchment and have their Head of House sign it.
• Tardiness of more than 15 minutes and an absence with no valid reason would merit the student Detention.
